I bought out the remaining contents of the two radio shacks near me during the last days of clearance. Dug into a bin of random crap today and the entire bottom was this. Guess at some point i got tired of sorting and shoved these aside for later…. Years later.
You and me both. I was working on 3d printing gridfinity bins for this storage dresser I had, ended up not liking it because of reasons, all of the stuff are in baggies thrown in the drawers and I keep putting it off.
Oh man I remember this. I went to my local RadioShack and they were charging $5 per grocery bag for all these types of loose components. The only downside was that they had to manually scan everything. Workers seemed annoyed by this but there was nothing they could do.
I am still buying similar stuff, the hobby/games/RC store near me has a glass display case that functions as the last radio shack in New Jersey, I’m not sure if it is just old stock but they have all the signs and branding so it feels kinda like the old days. The store employees have to unlock the case but they let me browse to my heart’s content, I’m glad they don’t stick around because I can’t stop myself from doing that deep inhale closing my eyes, and floating back 20 years for a couple of seconds.
That 3.5mm audio plug packaging that’s going back 30yrs+ Wow.
I sometimes miss buying a 4 pack of resistors for 5 bucks 🥲
