Oh man, haha. except for the occasional repair I hadn’t done any serious electronics work in a couple of decades until this last year. Bought my first non-Radio Shack brand soldering iron a few months back. Still have some 60/40 on two rolls, one branded like this and the other Archer. Both cat 64-005. There was a time I knew the catalog number for most of their component parts.
I switched to Kester solder and itโs great. I was freaking out when I started running out of the Radio Shack solder.
Now start cleaning up all the amber gunk its left over the bottom of every board you ever soldered with it ๐
RS still sells solder, FYI. Unsure if the spool looks like that. ๐ง
Wow, Iโm down to my last few inches of R-S solder. Probably purchased the roll in 2007. Indeed, end of an era. ๐
Unspool another spool of lead and respool your RadioShack spool
I love the smell of burning rosin in the morning!
