  1. Anyone seen this before? Nearly caught me out.

    These are from a kids soldering kit at thepihut, which uses the flat edge placement on the board. I caught it before we soldered, but all the red ones have the flat edge on the short pin? The green and yellow are normal, flat edge on the positive

  2. It sounds to me like the other LEDs are the ones that are backwards. An LED almost always has the flat edge and shorter leg on the **cathode** (-ve). In 20 ish years of electronics, both hobbyist and professional, I have only a few times encountered LEDs with the flat edge and short leg on the anode. Cathode is overwhelmingly the norm, even if it’s not actually a standard.
