There are many Joule Thief’s. This Joule Thief is mine. It’s ugly, but it works. First soldering project done! On to THE INTERNET!

Not uglier than my IKEA joule thief 😂
Please detach your Joule Thief from the Internet; every site I visit now flashes.
No, actually the coil is very pleasing to look at. Great job!
What’s a joule thief?
Soldering? Ugly, maybe, functional? yes! If you really want to make your solder joints pretty get yourself one of [these](https://www.amazon.com/MG-Chemicals-Clean-Flux-Pen/dp/B01ELUI19Q/ref=sr_1_8?crid=9US2BDG5SE5N&keywords=flux+pen&qid=1662584313&sprefix=flux+pen%2Caps%2C94&sr=8-8). I use flux daily at work and I’ve taken to calling it liquid magic because…well it just is
That coil? That is beautiful, just beautiful
What is the point of a joule thief? It just lights up an led?
Did you do any engineering here? Jus wondering as that transformer seems HUGE for what you are asking it to so. But, as a simple learning project, great job. Next step, other than learning how to solder properly is to engineer better and better versions of this. How about powering a string of LEDs from a single AA battery with minimal size and cost?
That coil looks like a forbidden candy.
