If I had to bring this stuff back and forth everything in this photo would have been sloppily thrown into a duffel bag with some sweaters and t shirts for cushioning.
Seems like a lot of wasted space with the foam. Are you paying the whole extra bag fee? Seems like it’d be cheaper to just mail it via FedEx/UPS ground.

Nice setup! I highly recommend the Miniware Minidso MDP-01 and MDP-P905 portable bench power supply. Super small package (and lightweight) but easily capable to provide you with 30V/5A. I carry mine in a nice zipped bag in my bag all the time. They also make the famous TS100 & T80 soldering irons that rival more expensive bench variants.

Very cool setup! If you ever find yourself pushed for space, there are much smaller options for benchtop power supplies. I just built one from a DPS5005 that’s 48v 5a and about 1/3 the size of the one you have. Lots of enclosure designs on thingiverse etc.
I’m wondering how the stuff stays in the foam when you close it.
Do you really need to carry this around with you? I mean, if you are studying EE or similar, I expect the uni to have a lab, even if it’s crusty old equipment.
