Basically my BL touch for a 3d printer wiring has broken some pins in the plug and I can’t locate any in the country, ordering some in will either be expensive but fast or roughly a month long wait but cheap. Or alternatively I can solder the wires directly to the back of the probe in the meantime. Is there any reason I shouldn’t solder on?
At the risk of breaking it, I would despised the whole connector. Solder the wires directly. Make sure there are no shorts and then apply a liberal serving of glue gun over it to make sure there isn’t strain on the wires in future

A
I’m not as savvy so take me with a grain of salt but why not desolder the connector and solder all of them? Can always undo/redo later on.
I guess it depends on how soon you want to use this item, and how durable it needs to be.
