Hey all! I’ve finally gotten a V1 of my pick and place system together, and it’s now all on github. I’m calling it the Index, and it’s a sub-$500 pick and place design, that includes feeders that work with the machine.
It definitely still needs work. But that’s the beauty of open source; releasing it to a larger group helps tease out bugs!
As always, would love advice or thoughts on ways the design could be improved!
Thats awesome dude! Great job.
Amazing project and kudos for opensourcing it.
> eventually the Index will support solder paste dispensing, automatic reflow, and even AOI.
Cant wait!!!!!

Love your videos! I watch every single one.
Hope you have an easy time finishing this awesome project!
What a great milestone to hit! I’ve been following all the videos for this and know what it took to get this far. Excited to see where the community takes it.
What a lad
Awesome project, fun seeing it progress.
What’s the cylinder thing you use to hold the PCB when soldering them at the start?
No camera?

Awesome dude
I’d love it if a kit becomes available, as I don’t have or currently have access to a suitable 3D printer.
OP, you might have *mad* success off crowdfunding a kit of this…
This is so dang cool, you’re a minor hero in my book.
This is amazing!!!
Finally! I’ve been following your posts and was looking forward to this. Thanks so much for taking the time to put this out there for everyone else to benefit from. Good job!
I’m speechless, hats off
This is SO awesome. Well-done!
Awesome project, people like you are what make the opensource community amazing.
Please sell the feeders. The market for this machine is going to mostly be people who don’t want to place devices, and I’m certain even within the other group that there will be a number of hobbyists who would prefer to send some cash your way.
Just saw the entire series, great work man! I really love your enthusiasm, it’s a big inspiration to keep making, thank you!
This man is on a mission.
Ingenious! Thanks for sharing this design
Theresa few of the STLs missing but someone has stated that on the Github.
Epic work.

You are an absolute hero! Can’t wait to build my own
