Whenever I start talking about electronics with people that know very little about electronics, and then bring up capacitors, pretty much WITHOUT FAIL they say “oh, like the Flux Capacitor!” Literally 95% if the time! Anyone else? It’s just so funny to me that people always go to a pop culture reference
I like to think of inductors as “flux capacitors”. It’s funny BttF made up some crazy device to store magnetic field energy when any coiled conductor will do the job.
I used to work for a company founded by a Silicon Valley scion. He wandered into the lab one day and asked me if flux capacitors were a real device (his 12-year-old son wanted to know). I told him it was fiction.
He knew better than to think such a device would create a time machine, of course; he just wanted to know if there was such a thing.
I’ll tell you what, though; his kid would have loved the one on the left. The right, not so much.
Where can I find one? Asking for a friend…
forbidden soup
😂
You had me on the first half. Not gonna lie
Took me a few moments (since I was mesmerized by the board 🙂 )
Lolololol
Love it!
i laughed at the 2nd one 😛
Neat project!
Finally mine broke a few years ago and I e been waiting do I can go back home!
50’s here I come
You found my free energy flux capacitor!
Hmm… I thought flux capacitor sounded familiar the first time I went to see Back to the Future in theaters.
How many gigawatts?

Didn’t I see this post 5 years ago?
Is there someone tell me what’s this?
It is a “prop” used in film or movies, or just for fun.
It is a “flux capacitor” from “back to the future

I laughed way to hard at this one
Why big cap bathing in solder paste?

whats the thing on the left?
Hmm, not enough flux to capacitate.
What is this?
Just need the rest of the Deloreon now.

“You know I’m somewhat of a scientist myself…”
That’s a capacitor in flux, not a flux capacitor.
Love it, lol
damn you, take my upvote lmao, love it
