As an EE early in my career, it’s always reassuring to see professionals of 30+ years doing fixes like this. It’s something I’ve thought about doing in the past, but wrote off as “too scrappy”. This encourages me to be creative in my fixes and remember that if it’s stupid but it works, it’s not stupid.

Fwiw, the industry name for these is [`interposer`](https://www.google.com/search?q=interposer&tbm=isch) if it’s just used for a single chip or tightly interconnected chiplets
