  1. I inherited this tackle box of chips from my uncle when he passed away a decade ago. I think he had gotten it from a friend of the family when he had passed away. They both were big on electronics back in the day. Many of these chips are pre-LS series logic. I think most came from scrapping old computers, mainframes, and mini-computers of the time as I remember seeing parts of various machines around his house growing up. Shame they got taken apart like that, but at least the chips got saved. Many of the boards went to scrap about 10 years ago. I saved a few, but they already had many chips removed and the boards damaged by the time I got them so I only ever used them to source parts for some of my early projects. Those boards are long since thrown out now. I think most of them went to mini-computers. Wished I kept more of them, although I think I still have a few of the better ones stored somewhere.

I’ve been re-stocking it with some of my own parts over the years as I use them for vintage repairs and other projects.

  2. Am I supposed to be impressed?

  4. I want a chip collection now
