  1. Next up we’ll need an SMD version for scale

  2. Both circuits have three pins (plus, ground, and signal). Each positive signal flank advances to the next state in a cycle of Off, 50% on, 100% on.

The big one runs on 24V (with ~18W) and is controlled by 6 relays, with the center four being east german production.

The little one only needs 12V and uses a 4017 decade counter for control. Funnily enough it turned out to use more power when lighting up only half the LEDs (~1.7W as opposed to ~1.1W with them all on).

  3. one’s a but more artsy

  4. Post a update with a video of both working at the same time!!
    Please;)

  5. What kind of inrush do you think those poor batteries are seeing? I’d imagine that the 50% on starting first helps soften that. Cool project anyway you look at it!

  6. One works better as a heater though

  7. The big one has one important function that makes it superior – It looks way cooler.

  8. Only one of them makes satisfying clicking sounds.
