I absolutely love this! I wish at that age I was mentored like that. Instead, I would take out the CRT tube from an old broken 25β console TV set, carry it around the house, and wonder why my dad was so mad at me for doing that. It was already broken and he said I can play with it
Amazing stuff! Keep it up
I constructed an AM radio when I was about his age.
Seeing this gave me a flashback to when I was a kid and I enrolled in a summer course hosted by a local state college. I took a digital electronics class, and we built circuits on breadboards. I played around with the gates, making different combinations of buttons light up different lights or making oscillations. The instructor scolded me and said we are only allowed to make the circuits in the book.
I thought the electronics class would be the best one, but it was the worst, because of the instructor. The rocketry class was a lot more fun than I expected, because the instructor tied in a lot of subjects, and we learned trigonometry, chemistry, and physics. Fortunately an electrical engineer working at a local air force base mentored me in electronics, so I didn’t miss out on anything.
I’m glad to see you guys enjoying working together on it.
