Pictured is the controller pcb for my toddlers rc truck. I’ve been waiting for a Pinecil to come in to do the repair but couldn’t wait anymore because every time my kid sees it all he could do is point at it and say “broke” over and over again. He’s only 1.5 years old by the way.
First pic: bottom right part of the pcb snapped due to the lack of support on the under side. Surprisingly, the other buttons are supported by the shell.
2nd pic, I reinforced the pcb with stacked pieces of a tongue depressor, stuck together with Elmer’s glue.
3rd pic: my tools. A candle to heat up the iron tip, the iron tip which was wrapped up with a paper towel as a handle and kept together with my daughters hair tie, a dollar tree x-Acto knife, some solder, and some flux.
