I taught soldering classes for engineers back in the day, and this is pretty much what I saw all the time. For people who were so smart, they couldn’t for the life of them figure out you need to heat the intended object, the pad, and the solder in a cohesive manner. It was amazingly frustrating to sit back and watch.
It’s even in a clear case like it’s something to be proud of🤮
That looks like you heated a nail with a lighter and somehow managed to solder the components.
