  1. When I got my first smartphone with NFC support I was somewhere between 7th and 10th grade. At some point I had to make a presentation about a topic of my choice. I went for NFC because I thought it’s incredibly awesome. And since most of my classmates and some teachers never heard of it, a lot of the others had a lot less knowledge about it than me it was pretty easy to get a 1 (1=best, 6=worst).

The coil is made from a toy motor, I didn’t even bother to count the windings and I think I used a glue stick for the diameter. In hindsight it worked awesome for that randomness.

I think I got inspired by the LED buttons that light up when a phone nearby rings.

I don’t know why it was behind my workbench because I moved a few times since them but it’s nice to be remembered about that time.

  2. Finding old projects is the best! Seeing how far you’ve come since they were designed is super gratifying.

  3. Currently playing with wireless LEDs, adding a tuning cap on the receive side makes a difference, if it’s tuned to the right frequency

  4. Had to remind myself that NFT’s and NFC’s are different things; it’s early.

  5. Ah yes, a free energy device!
