Aww, memories; There used to be the exact same type of business here in Melbourne, Australia just around the corner from my old University – long since closed down.
* Delta Electronics – now a computer not surplus store * ACK Radio – RIP * Incredible Universe – that going out of business firesale was wild * Tech America – was Radio Shack’s foray into the big box format * Frys Electronics
All that is left is:
* Microcenter * AudioLab
I also miss Star Metals. It was the only metal recycler where as a retail customer you could poke around the piles in the yard, pick out a steel beam, pay $20, and two guys would load it into your truck. The same beam would cost >$100 at the new metal distributor around the corner.
Surplus Gizmos is nice but they don’t have a ton of stuff and they’re pretty spendy as they’re the only game in town. The owner is nice and will cut you a deal though.
Apex Electronics outside of LA has an aircraft hangar and a giant outdoor yard full of literally everything electronic you could ever want.
Where it this? It reminds me of the old Weird Stuff store in Silicon Valley.
Mr Carlsons garage? Lol
toys!
It’s like a museum. Nice stuff but nothing I would want in 2021.

Oh, it’s a THT traesure.
I remember going to a store like this in Orlando back in the 90’s.
What’s that B&K instrument in the next rack beside those old Eico scopes
heaven or not, but sure looks like afterlife

We have a similar store near me in El Cajon, CA. [Home – Murphy’s Surplus (murphyjunk.net)](https://www.murphyjunk.net/)
It’s not cheap, though.
This is the kind of store my wife would never let me into…
R.I.P
Where is this meca so I can spend my paycheck?
If you can make it to the MIT Flea, you will have seizures 🙂
>heavy breathing
Reminds me of Skycraft in Orlando. It really is a treat living near a no holds barred surplus store. Heaven indeed!
Check out Google’s “inside” images of Skycraft:

This is probably a silly question, but what search terms would I use to find a store like this in my area?
That looks like Mr. Carlson’s Lab’s shelfs.
Yo Opwhere is this at
I can smell the decaying caps from here
How much it cost?

WHHHAAAAAAAAAAA where is this I’m getting my plane ticket now
Edit: hey I see my trusty HP 1631D logic analyzer hanging out on that bottom shelf
