I have a longer version of the video with more details and examples from audio-visual effects here: [https://youtu.be/Bl1-YE1JKSE](https://youtu.be/Bl1-YE1JKSE)
Nice work. Takes me back to the day when I first built a crystal radio. That attempt helped me innovate when faced with obstacles. Hope it gets him curious and make him push the boundaries as he forms his thoughts and actions. Happy new year to all!
That’s some awesome editing to go along with an awesome gift. Nice job, I’m sure they’ll love it.
What a terrific dad <3
Amazing job!!!
PS: Amazing soundtrack while working! Tool is awesome! 🙂
My kid would be happy to just rattle the box.
Nice work!
Love it!
Whia! Very cool!! What is the Dremel bench tool??? That looks incredible!
That’s awesome.
r/nextfuckinglevel
it’s like r/gifrecipes but for arduino
When I was 2 an Ikea food container was already an interactive toy.
At first I thought you were just going to give him a box full of parts so he could make it himself. Either way, good job.
Thanks dude…. now I gotta get that Ender and Dremel because that shit looked awesome as fuck to do. Sorry, for the language but I feel like you have woken up something inside of me for good. Thank you.
Holy crap. This is such a good idea
Major bonus points for listening to Tool
How the heck do you have all that free time to:
1. design this
2. wire this up
3. make a **well made** stop motion film of this
4. and lastly code this
???
Props to you!
The making of this video seems harder than the design and manufacturing of the box.
Not trying to say that in a bad way at all, that is a cool box! But those where some real nice animations.
Beautiful idea, beautiful execution, beautiful start-to-finish video.
I have never seen one of those nifty solder dispensers before… In the context of this video, i just busted out laughing, like OF COURSE… WHY NOT…
I’m more impressed by the edit, tbh!
good shit, mate.
Keep talking and nobody explodes.
man… fear innoculum…. such a great album
Thats cool until he plays with for about a week and then moves on
I always wondered what Peter Gabriel was doing with his time these days
Is there a program you use specifically to make animated diagrams like that, or is it just Photoshop or something?
I’ve also used Ikea boxes as mounting boards for electronics. Works surprisingly well!
I want to know where you got the solder dispenser.
This is awesome!! Thank you for posting kind sir.
That’s awesome!! Loved it.
This is very cool. Makes me want to rummage around the house and find an old container and make something nifty.
Is the toy kind of a musical instrument?
Baby’s first r/modular synth
Let’s see… Which buttons do I press to launch the missiles?
Great work!
“I know the pieces fit”
Awesome build.
You’re a great dad, I have fond memories of something my father made for me of a similar ilk, except given it was 85, there wasn’t a microcontroller in there. Just a bunch of buttons, switches and a rotary dial that changed the config, loved it to pieces.
My wife is now pregnant – so I guess I’m going to have to build something similar. 😀
Absolutely wonderful
This looks like fun, to make and to use!
Might need to order some components…
that is so cool. great toy, great video, great dad. inspiring – thank you for posting
Amazing, great video 👑
That was great, video editing as well.
My 7 year old was the inspiration for the first electronic toy I put on the market. They joy on their faces is often enough
What was the make/model of the tool you used to drill out the holes in the plastic enclosure? Looks a lot more compact than my harbor frieght bench drill press
I got a bunch of unused LEDs here and containers; wanted to get rid of them in a creative way. Thanks for giving me ideas!
Hey excellent job. The editing is as amazing as the prop itself.
I did quite a similar project but for an escape room puzzle. How did you manage to close the box ? Like how to make sure nobody can open it while still being able to do maintenance in it ?
