Next up is replacing the existing broken amplifier modules with TDA7293 amps. Its a cringey solution but unfortunately I can’t manage to find a proper replacement part.
That’s no cringe, that there is a a mod, as in modification – ala “upgraded repair”.
Assuming you’ve matched the families as so, should work great.
First thoughts on the caps: The footprint is mis-matched, those caps are treehouses. Squirt a bit of hot glue under those to prevent metal fatigue over time, audio vibration might cause embrittlement. One day… *tink*. EDIT: The 1Farad is likely fine. I’m looking at the 220’s and the 4.7’s. 😉
How well does it tune? Changing anything in the IF/PLL area? Receives well? Pics of the front/back?
EDIT: My daily driver is a Technics Stereo Receiver SA-103. It’s got personality with some scratchy volume & a dirty channel on blue moons. That’s pumping a pair of Kenwood LS-770 under my desk. I love it!

Edit: its from inbetween 79-81, not the 70ies
Credits: Thanks to Jordan Pier on YT who made a video about this exact repair.
Out of curiosity, what do the solder connections on the big ICs look like?
Replace all those old caps, they are likely no longer in spec.
